Åsa Carild
Head of Platform and senior advicer for Utopia Music, a technology company specializing in building technical solutions which provide greater transparency and efficiency to different players in the creative industries. She has previously set up and worked with several online licensing hubs like ICE, the international collaboration between GEMA, Stim and PRS, and Polaris as CEO, the Nordic licensing hub. She has also worked as Nordic Manager for Nokia’s music venture, run her own record label and worked as COO for the game tech company Muchdifferent. Carild has a background in the academic world, and has done an extensive study about the impact of digitalization on the music business. She started her career in the music industry as a singer in indie pop band Pineforest Crunch, and is still active as songwriter and singer with the bands Akaba and Nacht.
